Biography

Matt Taibbi is an investigative journalist and author known for his sharp, unflinching coverage of Wall Street corruption, campaign finance, and media consolidation. His 2009 Rolling Stone article "The Great American Bubble Machine" — detailing how Goldman Sachs rigged the financial system — became one of the most widely read pieces in the magazine's history. He later wrote extensively about the 2016 election, the media's role in political polarization, and the Twitter Files after acquiring internal communications from Elon Musk's Twitter. Taibbi was a contributing editor at Rolling Stone for over a decade and co-founded the independent media outlet Racket News. He is the author of several books including "Griftopia," "The Divide," and "Hate Inc."
