Biography
Ana Kasparian (born July 7, 1986) is an American independent political commentator, media host, and journalist. She is the co-host and executive producer of The Young Turks (TYT), the largest online news show in the world, where she has been a central figure since 2007.
Born and raised in Los Angeles to Armenian immigrant parents, Kasparian earned both her undergraduate degree in Journalism and her graduate degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge. She also teaches broadcast journalism at CSUN as a lecturer.
Kasparian has won a Webby Award for Best Web Personality and Host and a Streamy Award for Best News and Culture Show for her work on TYT. Her writing has been published in The New York Times, Time Magazine, and Raw Story, where she is a columnist.
Known for her sharp wit, fearless interviewing style, and willingness to challenge both parties, she has become one of the most recognizable independent media figures in progressive politics. She also hosts her own show, #NoFilter with Ana Kasparian, and is a regular commentator across national media.
